Creator Earnings

TLDR: Creators of worlds and systems now get 1.5% and 0.5% of each paid GM play back as credits. Creator Earnings are viewable in your account settings, and are paid out every Friday at midnight Pacific Time. Until the end of September, we're tripling the rates to 4.5% and 1.5% as a launch bonus.

A couple months ago we wrote a draft post on the Craft Creator Program and in the last patch note we fulfilled the first part with the ability to tip your favorite creators with credits. In this patch note we're going one step further and introducing Creator Earnings.

To preface, it's a little bit different than what we were first thinking in the blog post, and this system is experimental and may evolve and change over time. We know there are many edge cases and questions to address, but we wanted to create something that's simple and can start rewarding creators immediately, rather than overcomplicating things and delaying the ability to reward creators.

How it works is simple: Creators of a system or a world automatically get a % of each paid play in that world. World creators get 1.5% of each paid play in their worlds, and system creators get 0.5% of each paid play in any world started from their system.

As a launch bonus, we're also tripling these rates to 4.5% and 1.5% respectively until the end of September.

What is a Paid Play?

A paid play is whenever someone uses credits to generate a response from the GM, or when a subscriber uses their energy. Free models or free accounts using energy do not count.

For example, if a turn cost a subscriber 10 energy, 1.5% of that turn (0.15), go back to the creator of the world as credit earnings.

Creator Payouts

Credits start accruing instantly from today, and get paid out every week at midnight on Fridays Pacific Time. You can view your Creator Earnings at any time via your account settings.

Why this approach?

While there's lots of things to consider, we want to keep things simple and start rewarding creators immediately. There's no thresholds to meet, no programs to enroll into, no pricing to think about, you simply start automatically getting rewarded as a creator that's making engaging content on the platform.

Transparently, we also hope this further incentivizes creators to share and promote their content off the platform. The more you share your worlds, the more players and builders will come onto Craft, which not only benefits the platform, but directly leads to more earnings for you as a creator.

You've all been making some seriously amazing worlds and systems, so please be proud of your work and share it with others who you think might also enjoy it!

Cosmetics

We're also launching a few cosmetic options to further customize your experience. Cosmetics are completely optional. They help us bring in some additional revenue to keep the company running, and are fun for those who like collecting them.

Profile Cosmetics

You can now customize your profiles with banners and purchasable avatar frames and background textures. To do so, go to your public profile and click on 'Customize Profile'.

Updating your profile banner is completely free, and your profile will take on the gradient colour of your banner image. You can also now optionally purchase avatar frames and background textures for credits to express yourself further on your profile. These optional cosmetics range in price from 100 to 500 credits, and every account has been given the Founder's Forge avatar frame and background texture for free!

Dice Skins

You can also now buy additional dice skins for credits through the Dice Skin shop. When you purchase a dice skin, you can equip it and use it within your games. Dice skins range from 50-500 credits.

DeepSeek v4 Pro and Grok 4.6

• Grok 4.6 has replaced Grok 4.5. It's the latest Grok release which is more intelligent than the previous, at the same price.
• DeepSeek v4 Pro is back with the latest update from DeepSeek.

Improvements and Fixes

• Profile notifications now come in real time, and you'll be notified when you unlock a new achievement or receive a like.
• Redesigned the account settings to use a sidebar with dedicated sections for Account, Creator Earnings, Billing, Usage, and Integrations.
• Improved UI of GM dice roll cards on mobile devices so that dice expressions and reasons stay more readable.
