Patch Notes B0.25 - Model Rotation

Free models [Experimental]

Thanks to our partner OpenRouter, we’re going to try offering free models. Free models can be used by free players as well as subscribers. Some things to note:

• Free model capacity is shared globally on a per model basis. We can make no promises on speed or reliability.
• Free models may be removed at anytime. It’s not up to us which free models are available through OpenRouter.
• We are testing this feature right now and can’t guarantee we’ll be able to keep this around. If we find that demand is so high that the free models are unusable, we may take the free models down and revisit it at a later time.

To start, we will be offering 4 free models:

• Nemotron 3 Ultra — the best and most reliable one
• Gemma 4 31B
• Laguna S 2.1
• Ling 3.0 Flash

Please let us know how these free models work for you. We want to know if you’re able to get decent gameplay and world building done with these models.

New Paid Models

The largest upgrades to the roster yet, headlined by the newest frontier releases:

• Claude Opus 5 — Anthropic's frontier model and the smartest option we've ever offered. A premium pick for when quality matters most.
• GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra & Luna — OpenAI's new family, in three tiers: Sol is the flagship, Terra the balanced middle, and Luna the faster, more affordable option.
• Claude Sonnet 5 — Anthropic's newest all-rounder: sharp, fast, and expressive.
• Kimi K3 — Moonshot's frontier open model.
• Gemini 3.6 Flash and 3.5 flash lite — Google's newest Flash models: quick, smart, with a huge context window. Despite being a flash model, 3.6 Flash scores better than the previous Gemini 3.1 Pro.
• Grok 4.5 - xAI's latest and smartest model. Extremely fast for its intelligence.

All models understand images, and every model's intelligence rating in the picker is now based on independent benchmark scores rather than our own estimates — so the ratings you see are directly comparable.

Please note that these models at the frontier of intelligence are more expensive than your standard models, but offer some fresh alternatives for those that like to use premium models such as Sonnet or GLM.

Leaving the rotation

To keep the picker focused, these models are no longer selectable: Gemini 3.1 Pro, Gemini 3 Flash (and Flex), Gemini 3.5 Flash Flex, Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite (and Flex), Claude Sonnet 4.6, Qwen 3.6 35B, and GLM 5.1. Most saw very little use, and the new lineup directly replaces them such as the new Gemini and Sonnet models.

Updated Model Selector

The model picker design has been updated to now be searchable and filterable by capability. It also shows the low and high end ranges for what a turn may cost with the model; most turns will fall within the middle to high end range displayed.

Free Account Updates

With open beta coming soon, free accounts have been updated with the following:

• Newly created free accounts will now start with an additional one time 40 energy to test out the platform in addition to the 10 daily energy.
• Free accounts can now only use their energy on select paid models (Hy3, Mimo v2.5, DeepSeek V4 Flash) and can still use their credits on any paid model.
