Builder's Manual · Chapter 10

Customize Character Creation

The included Character creator demonstrates a compact path: welcome, open concept notes, Species, Class, Background, identity, personality, connections and faith, level, ability scores, story priorities, boundaries, and completion. Replace its curated choices with the real records in your cloned project. Category screens should narrow the next list; they should not silently choose a different category.

Let players choose an exact record or explicitly ask the system to match them. When matching is allowed, compare the whole concept against real available records and choose the most story-specific fit. Never use a generic Class simply because it is familiar.

Keep the creator to roughly fifteen screens along any one path. Use open text where creative control matters and fixed choices where spelling or mechanical consistency matters. Faith should offer none and multiple selection when your Divine Powers exist. Ability methods must validate the actual array or point total.

The final generation instruction should audit every applicable field: references, level, abilities, hit points, gear, money, languages, features, spellbook, slots, locations, relationships, faith, story, and image identity. Optional systems stay optional.
