Getting Hurt
There is no health to lose and no damage to count.
Your character has a Condition, which is a short line of plain text saying how they are doing.
unhurt
winded, cut across the forearm
limping badly, left arm burned
barely conscious
When something hurts you, the Game Master rewrites that line as something worse and tells you what it now says. Bruised becomes bleeding. Bleeding becomes unable to stand.
Read your Condition, because it limits what you can plausibly do. A character with a burned hand climbs badly.
Time, treatment and care make it better. Some harm does not fully go away, and your Condition line is where a limp or a scar gets recorded.
If your Condition would get worse than barely conscious, you are out of the scene. You are not automatically dead, and you should always see it coming before it happens. If you are about to walk into something that will kill you, the Game Master is expected to tell you first.
