A fallen star brought an unknown infection to Veyra. Humanity tried to understand it and accidentally unleashed the apocalypse. Now the dead walk, civilization has collapsed, and the survivors are left to face the consequences.
THE WORLD ENDED. NOBODY GOT THE MEMO.
The dead came back. There was no grand warning. No prophecy. No heroic last stand. One day, people went to work, complained about traffic, bought groceries, ignored phone calls, and made plans for the weekend. Then people started dying. Then they stopped staying dead. The outbreak spread faster than anyone could understand it. Hospitals overflowed. Emergency services collapsed. Roads became parking lots. Governments issued instructions until there was nobody left to enforce them. Cities were abandoned piece by piece as the living discovered that civilization was considerably easier to lose than anyone had assumed. This is Veyra, a modern continent only recently introduced to the apocalypse. The electricity still works in some places. Phones occasionally find a signal. Cars still have fuel. Supermarkets still contain food. Medicine hasn't expired. Buildings haven't crumbled into picturesque ruins. The old world is still here. It's just full of corpses with poor boundaries. You are one of the people who survived the initial collapse. That does not make you special. You have no immunity, destiny, prophecy, or convenient explanation for why you're still breathing. You are simply alive, and for the moment, that is enough. Explore abandoned buildings. Search for supplies. Meet other survivors. Make enemies. Find somewhere safe. Improve the skills that keep you alive. Take stupid risks. Deal with the consequences. The world of Ossuary does not revolve around you. It will continue changing whether you are ready for it or not.
