Stats & Resources

Every character has six stats and a handful of derived numbers. Learn to read them like a cockpit readout — they tell you what you can do.

The six stats

StatGoverns
Strength (STR)Melee damage, carrying capacity, crit damage
Dexterity (DEX)Ranged damage, accuracy, dodge, crit chance, speed
Constitution (CON)Max HP, max Stamina, resistances, passive healing
Intelligence (INT)Tech damage, crafting, nano abilities, Frame systems
Wisdom (WIS)Perception, willpower, ability proficiency, magic resistance
Charisma (CHA)Social skills, leadership, summon strength

Your derived numbers — stat-direct, no levels

There are no levels. Max HP scales directly from stats and Health Tier:

Max HP = 50 + (CON × 5) + (CON × HealthTierBonus) + (CON × BuildMultiplier)
  • HealthTierBonus comes from your Health Tier (0–3, set by the GM at creation): Frail +0, Standard +2, Tough +4, Tanky +6. It is the biggest driver of toughness between builds.
  • BuildMultiplier comes from your build: Grounded +2, Immersion +4, Full Anime +6. It keeps each build's fights lethal at its own scale without a level multiplier.
TierMeaningTypical builds
0FrailPsychic mutants, glass cannons
1StandardMost characters
2ToughRegenerators, demons, angels, cyborgs
3TankyPhysical mutants, dedicated tanks

Your power pool is determined by species and type — and you get exactly one, or none:

PoolWho has itRegeneration
StaminaMutants, Nano-Enhanced5% of max per turn in combat, 10% out
EnergyCyborgs, Frames, Androids, AI2% per turn in combat, 5% out
ManaDemons, Angels1% per turn in combat, 3% out; meditation restores 50% in an hour
NoneBaseline Humans, Beastkin, Halfkin, Splices

Max Stamina, Energy, and Mana scale directly from their governing stat (CON for Stamina, INT or CON for Energy per frame/species, WIS or CHA for Mana) times your build multiplier — no per-level gain. A mutant's abilities cost Stamina, not Mana. A cyborg's systems cost Energy. Only demons and angels cast with Mana.

Two more numbers worth knowing:

  • Speed = 10 + floor((DEX − 10) / 2) × 3 — who reacts first in a fight.
  • Perception = 50 + (WIS − 10) × 3 + (INT − 10) — what you notice before it notices you.

Growth by use — you are what you do

Stats change because of what you do, not because a counter filled:

  • Taking hits, eating hearty, enduring hardship → CON. Overindulge without training and you gain weight: CON up, DEX down until you lean out.
  • Running, dodging, sneaking, handiwork → DEX.
  • Hauling, climbing, striking, breaking → STR.
  • Study, crafting, piloting, slicing systems → INT.
  • Scouting, resisting fear and influence, attuning → WIS.
  • Leading, persuading, performing, bonding → CHA.

The GM moves stats in small steps after scenes and arcs where you clearly stressed them. Neglect, sickness, head injury, hostile powers, and curses can shrink stats. Nothing moves past its cap — caps come from your build, species, and type, plus breakthroughs like Omega that raise them.

Stat caps by build: Immersion uses printed caps (baseline 20, demons and angels 150 → 300 → 1,000 through stages, mutants and nanos open with variance toward power stats). Grounded pulls every cap toward baseline-human range with variance by build. Full Anime raises or removes caps for everyone, including baseline humans.

Training

Between arcs, you can train. A week of focused practice, a tutor, a gym, a drill — the GM awards direct gains: 1–3 points to the trained stat, harder to earn as the stat nears its cap. Training cannot push past a cap. Skills improve separately, through use.

The Omega path

Mutants and Nano-Enhanced with a capped power stat and low Stamina qualify for a hidden Omega roll when they push abilities below their Stamina threshold, using the Beyond Your Limits ability to spend HP when Stamina runs short. Success climbs one tier — Omega → Planetary → Galactic → Universal → Omega God — with a large jump to HP, Stamina, stats, and caps, plus new tier-flavored abilities. Each tier adds to the max rather than setting a flat max, with a larger bonus to the stat you pushed. Omega God is uncapped.

Know your limits

The formula for everything is on your sheet. Before a fight, read your numbers: your HP, your pool, your accuracy, your dodge, your damage range. A character who knows their numbers can plan; a character who plans wins fights that luck alone can't decide.
