Builder's Manual · Chapter 7

GM Instructions and Context

Keep always-on context small. Campaign State should contain compact current truth. Most Characters, Skills, Relationships, Memories, Locations, Possessions and other records should remain searchable and be retrieved only when relevant.

Triggered GM Instructions should be short and imperative. Each trigger should own one recurring responsibility: action resolution, object movement, money changes, time progression, legal consequences, recovery or persistence. Avoid duplicating the same rule in many triggers.

The GM should treat files as canon, respect knowledge boundaries, advance autonomous NPCs plausibly and favor emergent consequences over authored plot enforcement.
