Builder's Manual · Chapter 5

Economy, Property, and Objects

Financial Accounts are the authoritative account-like stores of money and debt. Jobs establish work, schedule and pay. Expenses establish recurring obligations. Property represents significant assets, ownership or access. Items are reusable object definitions; Possessions represent actual instances in the world.

Keep those responsibilities separate. Do not duplicate a bank balance on Character, and do not use a generic Item reference as the authoritative inventory. A Possession can move between people and locations without changing the underlying Item definition.

Choose the amount of economic detail that creates decisions in your world. Lifeborn supports realistic continuity, but creators should not turn ordinary life into unnecessary accounting.
