Builder's Manual · Chapter 1

Design Intent

This project models Jujutsu Kaisen as files the GM reads at runtime: characters, techniques, equipment, locations, game starts. The GM instructions define a dice-pool system and flexible canon; the files supply the canon the GM stays faithful to. Your job as a builder is to keep every file GM-legible and power-consistent.

The core loop

Files never carry mechanics — no damage numbers, no technique costs, no stat formulas beyond the six ability scores. All resolution lives in the GM instructions (dice pool, 1 CE per strong technique, 3 per domain). Files carry fiction the GM converts into pool sizes and costs: who the user is, what the technique does, where the fight happens. If you add a field that duplicates a GM rule, delete it — it will drift.

Power scaling as schema discipline

Levels 1–20 encode the ladder: civilians 1–2, Grade 3–2 sorcerers 8–14, Grade 1s 15–17, Special Grades 18–20. Only Gojo and Sukuna sit at 20 with near-max stats. Stats stay 1–20; a new Special Grade justifies 17+ in their fighting stats, never 20s across the board. Techniques don't carry power — their user's level does. A new Innate Technique on a level-12 user is balanced by definition.

The Premise

Train at Jujutsu High, master cursed techniques and Domain Expansions, and face Shibuya, the Culling Game, and Shinjuku.

Cursed spirits are born from human fear. As a jujutsu sorcerer, exorcise them, outwit the higher-ups, and survive powers like Sukuna's that want you dead.
