Welcome to Craft Text

Craft Text is a tabletop roleplaying game with no dice, no statistics and no arithmetic. Everything your character is, is written down in words, and everything that happens follows from those words.

There is nothing to roll, nothing to add up and nothing to look up on a table. You say what your character does. The Game Master tells you what happens.

Your character is made of a few pieces of writing, a list of Abilities and the Gear they are wearing. That is the whole sheet.

	What it holds
Concept	One line saying who this person is
Background	Where they came from and what happened before now
Abilities	Everything they can do beyond ordinary competence
Equipment	One piece of Gear per body slot, plus a Pack
Condition	How they are doing right now, in plain words

This book teaches you to play. The next chapter builds a character, and the ones after cover Abilities, Gear, how actions resolve, and what happens when you get hurt.
