Building Mirrors That Hold

The whole project runs on one constraint: same identity, inverted soul.

When you build any character, location, faction, or deity pair: keep names, layout, and bloodlines identical. Flip light, fortune, leadership, personality, alignment, methods, and encounter table. If the Verdant version is grateful, the Blighted version is spiteful — not frightened, not tired, opposite. If the Verdant version shakes travelers down, the Blighted version shelters them.

Roster balance matters. Never let every faction read Good in one face and Dark in the other. Duplicity keeps three Good-to-Dark (Watch, Lodge, Bloom) and two Dark-to-Good (Tithe, Court). Any new faction you add should fill the thinner side.

Verdant encounters stay mortal: beasts, bandits, goblin raids, pest packs. Blighted encounters go supernatural: plague swarms, undead, werewolves, vampires, hauntings — plus mortal cruelty. Supernatural in Verdant is rare and noteworthy; kindness in Blighted is real but harder.

Duplicity

WARNING: WIP-Published to test playability. Only starting location added so far to the world: Welcome to the show Traveler. Duplicity is a traditional fantasy RPG where you get to live your life with one exception, every Long Rest forces you into the alternate reality of the world. You've been picked to live two lives at once. Every location, god, and NPC are polar opposites in each version of the world.
