Making a Character
Character creation walks you through a set of screens. The sheet does the math. You record your raw choices, and it adds every bonus from your species, archetype, feats and gear.
- Concept. Write one line about who your character is.
- Species. A plain Human has no stat bonus and picks two Human Feats. A Human variant gets +1 to one stat and picks one Human Feat. Each Human Feat is +3 to a skill or save, or +5 to a pool, and costs no XP.
- Power source. Pick Stamina, Mana or Energy as your main pool. You can still use all three later.
- Rank. Pick your starting rank, from F to S+. It sets your main pool and your Health. F-Rank starts with 10 of each. One pool stops at 40, so S and S+ put the rest in a second pool.
- Stats. Take the standard array for your rank (+2 / +1 / +0 at F-Rank), or use point buy (7 points at F-Rank).
- General Feats. Pick training, trades and skills. F-Rank picks up to 3.
- Archetype. Pick a genre (Universal, Fantasy, Modern, Cyberpunk or Sci-Fi), then an archetype from it.
- Archetype feats. Pick feats from your archetype's own branches.
- Branch out. Pick feats from one other tree. A Stamina, Mana or Energy tree also gives you extra points in that pool.
- Gear. Pick the world your gear comes from and how well off you are. Then choose torso armor, legs, feet and a main hand weapon.
- Drive. Write one thing your character wants.
The full tables for every rank are in @Missing file.
Species and archetypes
Your species and archetype both show under Origin on your sheet. A species gives a small stat bonus and two Species Powers. An archetype gives bonuses to stats, Health, pools, skills, saves or Defense, plus General Powers that cost no XP. Craft Lite has 95 archetypes in five rarities, from Everyday Common to Legendary. Rarer archetypes give more. Each archetype file says how it plays and which feat branches it uses.
Experience
Your Experience starts at 0. Everything you pick during creation is free. An F-Rank character starts with about 40 XP worth of feats.
What "rank" means
Your starting rank is where you begin, not a cap. As you spend XP your stats, pools and feats climb the same F to S+ ladder used for creatures. Nobody rolls rank. It tells the table roughly how much of the world you can take on.
