LIVE A MEDIEVAL LIFE — NOT JUST AN ADVENTURE

HEARTH & CROWN You are not the center of the world. You are a person living within it. Begin with a home, a family, a trade, a reputation, and a place in society. Work for wages, learn a craft, run a business, acquire land, build relationships, raise a family, serve a lord, earn influence — or pursue something greater. Around you, life continues. People work, marry, age, have children, fall ill, struggle, prosper, feud and die. Businesses change hands. Households rise and fall. Settlements grow or decline. Noble houses pursue their own interests. Seasons pass and events unfold whether you intervene or not. There is no requirement to become a legendary hero or fulfill a grand destiny. You may become wealthy, powerful or renowned — but you may just as meaningfully spend your life tending your land, practicing your craft and providing for your family. In Alderwyn, ordinary life is the adventure — and the world remembers what you make of it.

Author's note

Hearth & Crown began with a simple goal: make a medieval RPG world feel like a place people actually live in.

I wanted a system where being a farmer, smith, merchant, healer, servant, soldier, noble, traveler, spouse, parent, landholder, or business owner could matter without turning the game into a spreadsheet.

The system is built around a simple philosophy:

Deep underneath. Simple and interactive on top.

Hearth & Crown simulates broadly but only tracks what matters. The world can continue beyond the player without requiring every person, meal, coin, rumor, or ordinary day to become permanent bookkeeping.

It is designed as a reusable foundation for grounded medieval worlds. Each world establishes its own cultures, laws, religions, politics, customs, settlements, economies, and history. Hearth & Crown provides the structure that lets those worlds live and change.

Build a world. Create a life. See what becomes of it.
