Kanto built out at ground level: eleven towns, twenty-five routes, and a badge circuit that runs on stipends, queues and paperwork. The same small 2d6 system as the template — no hit points, no experience, a condition ladder and a bond ladder doing the work — now with a region underneath it. Play opens in Pallet Town. More Game Starts to follow.
Eight badges, nine months, and the rent falls due either way.
Kanto as somewhere people work. Pallet to Indigo Plateau, all twenty-five routes walked rather than skipped, eleven towns with economies, and eight gyms that are licensing offices before they are boss fights. Mt. Moon has a fossil trade. The Power Plant has been dead two years and nobody has been sent. Team Rocket is not an ambush on a route — it is a sponsorship agency two links down from a man who also holds a gym appointment, and every visible piece of it is legal.
The system underneath is small on purpose. Roll two dice and add one of six traits; 10+ is clean, 7–9 costs you something, 6 or less and the world pushes back. There are no hit points and no experience — a creature rides a condition ladder and a bond ladder, and those two meters carry the weight instead. The dex is 389 creatures written as animals with temperaments, builds and limits rather than stat blocks. Kanto's hundred and fifty-one live here; everything else arrived by boat, by trade, or by somebody's mistake.
Play opens in Pallet Town with a dex you have not earned yet and a road you have walked as far as the fence. The character creation wizard is built, so you can roll your own trainer on the way in, or take a pregen and inherit their debts. A Player's Handbook and a Builder's Manual, nine chapters each, explain how to play it and how to build on it. **Trouble, not trauma — this region has a criminal organisation in it and no cruelty for its own sake.**
Kanto proper, built on the template system — the blank scaffold is still up if you'd rather sandbox the bare bones. Pallet start first; Rocket and a couple of other openings to follow once this one's bedded in. Use your favourite memory package for a better experience! :3 xo
