Is Huntcraft the Right Base?
Use Huntcraft when the fun comes from learning the target's rules and changing the situation until an ending becomes possible. It fits monster hunts, ghost investigations, curse cases, hostile machines, occult fieldwork, kaiju response, and boss-focused expeditions.
Huntcraft supplies the reusable rules for 2d6 resolution, Truths, Preparations, Aspects, Resolutions, Pressure, Conditions, Equipment, and optional Remnants. Your World supplies the identity: what the Quarry are, what counts as evidence, which preparations exist, what hunters risk, and which endings matter.
Use another base when the main attraction is tactical grid combat, symmetric PvP, large armies, generic dungeon attrition, or a progression ladder where increasing personal power is the central fantasy. Huntcraft can contain combat and advancement, but combat is not the canonical measure of progress and the Quarry is not required to be killable.
