Techniques and Resources
A Technique is an authored capability: a spell, martial form, psychic power, transformation, gadget routine, social art, or equivalent. Read its trigger, effect, cost, and limits before applying it; the name grants nothing by itself.
A Technique can carry Scale Reach. Reach raises your effective Tier only inside that Technique's written scope. If Burst Step has Reach 1 for movement, an Initiate can contest an Adept-scale timing problem with Burst Step; Ari does not become Adept at attacking, lifting, resisting damage, or anything else.
Techniques may cost a Resource such as Focus, Mana, Qi, Stamina, Heat, or Corruption. Spend the cost when you commit the Technique. Refresh a Resource only when its own rule says it refreshes.
Technique Mastery records trained improvement. It changes through explicit training, a completed progression milestone, or another authored improvement, never routine use. Lower-Mastery benefits remain available at higher Mastery unless the Technique says otherwise.
