The Heroic Age
The Heroic Age — a bronze-age sword-and-sorcery world of many mythoi: the warring river-kingdoms of the Scorpion Lands, the hero-citadels of Achaea and the bull-isle Thalassia, the horse-steppe of Skuthia, the eastern realms of Bharata, and the misty western isles of Albion and Hibernia — each with its own gods, monsters, buried tombs, and magic, built on the Mythras Imperative d100 engine.
The Heroic Age — bronze-age sword-and-sorcery across six mythoi: the Scorpion Lands, Achaea, Skuthia, Bharata, Albion, and Hibernia, in the shadow of watchful gods and buried tombs.
A sword-and-sorcery world echoing the Bronze/Iron Age — and every mythos it touched. Bronze weapons, composite bows, chariots, and sailing ships. Mercenaries, kings, tomb-robbers, and assassins. Magic is rare, ritualistic, and feared: most warriors live and die without ever seeing genuine sorcery — and when a sorcerer appears, wise men run.
The known world is a chain of mythic lands, each with its own gods, monsters, and heroes — and each one is open to play:
- **The Scorpion Lands** — the warring river-kingdoms of the Black Land and the east, the buried tombs of the sun-kings, and the sorcerers beneath the sand. - **Achaea** — the Hero Lands across the northern sea: gold-masked kings in their citadels, monsters in the marshes, and the deathless gods on Mount Olythion; Thalassia, the bull-isle of the Labyrinth, lies on its southern sea. - **Skuthia** — the grass sea of the horse-lords: felt tents, herds beyond count, head-taking tribes, and the one city of the north. - **Bharata** — the eastern realms: monsoon forests, sacred rivers, elephant armies, and temples older than memory, under three great thrones. - **Albion** — the misty island of the Brythons, where the druids are the law and the standing stones were old before the first grove was cut. - **Hibernia** — the green isle over the western sea: the immortal Tuatha and their Five Courts, beautiful and at war, beneath the long light.
Every land has its own mythos — its own gods to pray to or defy, its own monsters and tombs and magic. The roads, the sea-lanes, and the passes run between them all. Pick a mythos, make a hero, and take your place in the age.
