Builder's Manual · Chapter 7

Visibility Is Set in the App

Visibility does not travel through a clone. Whatever the files say, someone clicks it — and that someone is you, every time you copy a project.

Here is the whole map.

Pinned — exactly one

GM Operating Principles. The Ladder. The only file guaranteed present on every turn, which makes it the highest authority in the system: anything it states absolutely will be obeyed even when a card says otherwise.

Never pin a second file. Not because of cost alone, but because two absolute authorities that disagree produce behaviour nobody can debug.

Partial — exactly three

Partial is for files the Ladder does not name but the GM must know exist. Only the description loads.

FileWhy it earns it
GM Anti-Drift ProtocolThe player types the Rule #67 code. Searchable, the GM will not recognise it, and the self-correction hatch is dead.
Session Resumption ProtocolNeeded at session start, when nothing else has pointed anywhere yet.
Daily Life Rhythms & Travel ReferenceSmall, and consulted constantly for ambient texture.

Hidden

All 20 triggers, all 42 tools, the install-only guides, and the human-facing documents. The platform fires triggers and tools by event, so they never need to be found by search.

Everything else — searchable

This is not a demotion. A file the pinned cascade names by title is more reachable than a partial file, and costs nothing until it is opened.

Before pinning or partialling anything, ask whether the Ladder could name it instead. Naming costs about ten tokens once. Partial costs its description on every turn for the life of the campaign.
