Builder's Manual · Chapter 2
Integrating with an existing game
If you have a game with rules, mechanics, etc., already going, and you want to try it out with the LITD system, here's what I'd recommend:
- Copy your game to a new project, of course!
- Delete all of your GM instructions - really!
- Delete all files and filetypes associated with mechanics and tracking, including:
- Campaign logs, chapters, memories, archives, etc.
- Clocks, threads, plotlines, etc.
- Relationship files
- Keep:
- Characters
- World properties: Lore, Items, Monsters, Locations, etc.
- Character properties: Classes, Backgrounds, Species, etc.
- Update:
- Your existing character sheets to include properties connected to LITD mechanics:
- Abilities
- Relationship tags
- Memories
- Action Ratings (can use existing skill scores, just convert to a 0-4 scale)
- Stress
- Trauma
- Doomed
- Harm
- Force
- Advancement - New Ability Cost
- Advancement - Action Rating Cost
- The Reminders pinned file to note anything critical about your game's themes or style.
- Your existing character sheets to include properties connected to LITD mechanics:
