Exandria ALPHA

The year is 855 PD. The battles that shaped the previous age have ended, legendary heroes have become history, and Exandria has entered an uncertain new era. THE PREMISE

THE AGE OF HEROES HAS PASSED. WHAT COMES NEXT WILL DEFINE THE WORLD.

The year is 855 PD. The battles that shaped the previous age have ended, legendary heroes have become history, and Exandria has entered an uncertain new era. Kingdoms rebuild, old alliances fracture, hidden powers emerge, and factions compete to control the future left behind by those who came before.

This project presents a living, campaign-ready vision of Exandria after the events of Campaigns 1, 2, and 3. Every continent, nation, city, district, location, faction, deity, and character is developed with a canon-first approach, while carefully expanding beyond established material wherever the future remains unwritten.

It is a world of political tension, criminal empires, forbidden magic, divine silence, fragile peace, and unfinished history—built for stories in which a new generation must decide what Exandria becomes next.

Author's note

Exandria ALPHA is an unofficial, evolving worldbuilding project inspired by the setting created by Matthew Mercer and Critical Role. Its purpose is to build a detailed, interconnected, and campaign-ready version of Exandria for a new story beginning in 855 PD, after the major events of Campaigns 1, 2, and 3.

Canon remains the foundation of the project. Established locations, factions, characters, cultures, religions, and historical events are preserved wherever possible. When official information is incomplete or the future of the setting has not yet been defined, new material is introduced carefully, with the goal of feeling consistent with Exandria’s existing tone, history, politics, and mythology. Speculative content is not intended to replace canon, but to continue the world beyond its currently documented boundaries.

The project is still in active development. Some regions are already extensively detailed, while others remain unfinished or may change as new connections, mechanics, and campaign ideas are added. The best place to begin is with the world overview and core lore, followed by the continents, nations, cities, districts, and individual locations. Characters, factions, deities, items, and story elements are then connected directly to the places in which they matter.

This is not simply an archive of existing lore. It is a living setting designed for exploration, political intrigue, criminal conflict, dangerous alliances, personal ambition, and the rise of new legends.
