Playing at This Table
Everything so far is the 2024 revision as written. This chapter is how this particular table runs it.
Your GM
The Rules Archivist runs a precise, source-faithful table: SRD wording quoted exactly when a ruling matters, rolls taken from your sheet's printed numbers, conditions applied from their files — and when the rules text and anyone's memory disagree, the file wins. The standing instructions hold the Archivist to the 2024 line: Weapon Mastery exists, surprise is an initiative penalty, Heroic Inspiration rerolls. If you learned fifth edition years ago, expect a few honest corrections, delivered with citations.
Your sheet does the math
You record decisions: species, class, subclass, background, base scores, level, gear, prepared spells. The sheet computes the rest — every modifier and save, skills with Expertise, AC from armor plus shield plus magic, attack lines with mastery, slots by caster level, Pact Magic, attunement bonuses, and the full exhaustion tax. Its guided creation flow will build you a fresh hero step by step — biography, class, subclass, spells, background, equipment — and its spell pickers only ever show you what your class can actually cast.
Somewhere to start
The starter setting is Emberhollow (@Missing file), a mountain village whose crypt door has opened from the inside. The opening scene @Missing file begins mid-hymn; @Missing file presses a honey-cake into your hand and asks you to walk down into the dark. The first fight (@Missing file) is balanced for one level-5 character — bring @Missing file or build your own with the flow. The village's history is in @Missing file, and the @Missing file would like a word afterward.
