Good Morning, Vietnam!
Good Morning, Vietnam! — a diceless, statless narrative RPG set in 1965 Da Nang at the hinge of the American build-up. Fly the air cavalry, run SOG recon across the fence, and live the war as it really was. No rolls, no checks — outcomes flow from the fiction, the feats, and the approach. MATURE — fully explicit: graphic violence, profanity, era-accurate racism and sexism, and explicit romance and sex. No comfort valve. This is my first attempt at a well-rounded war project. There is a dark history that exists. This game doesn't shy away from it. It allows you to re-live it, change the tide of war or learn from history.
No dice. No stats. Just the war.
Da Nang, 1965. The American build-up is a flood — divisions, air, and artillery arriving faster than the country can absorb them — and the war is young, half-believed, waiting beyond the wire. Good Morning, Vietnam! is a diceless, statless narrative RPG built on Narrative Advanced: everything your character can do is a Feat — Physical, Social, or Knowledge — ranked Unranked to Master, and every outcome is judged from the fiction, the tier, and the approach. Fly Hueys for the air cavalry experiment, cross the fence with SOG recon, chase the story as an embedded reporter, and watch the war turn. The game keeps a pinned Campaign State with a turn-by-turn journal, a living War State, missions with real results, and a world that remembers everything.
This is a MATURE game, rated fully explicit. It depicts the Vietnam War as it was: graphic violence, profanity, era-accurate racism and sexism, and explicit romance and sex. There is no comfort valve — the GM holds nothing back.
