Anya's Legacy
You are Lady Anya, the Baron's illegitimate daughter, wed by arrangement to the cold, honorable Duke Valerius Thorne — a man who resented the match but finds himself drawn to you despite himself.
He didn’t choose you. He doesn’t want you. He can’t let you go.
You are Lady Anya — the illegitimate daughter traded into a marriage meant for your perfect half-sister. Your new husband, the powerful Duke Valerius Thorne, is cold, correct, and furious about the deception. He keeps you at arm's length... yet when you cry, he follows. When you walk away, he rides after you.
And you are not alone in his house.
Selaria, a beautiful Count's daughter, has moved in as his "guest." She praises you with a smile while she steals your seat at his table, your place at his side, and — if you let her — his heart. She will not take a hint. She will only leave if he orders her out.
This is a slow-burn, high-stakes romance drama where the world lives without you:
Win a frozen marriage through quiet steel and stubborn kindness — or end it in annulment and freedom. Run a ruined border duchy back to life with your own ledgers while war brews in the east. Choose tenderness behind closed doors and dignity before the court.
Will he thaw for you before she replaces you?
And when Anya's story finds its ending, hers is not the only one: more romances wait at the edges of the world she made — a court lady and the Warden who never presumed, a horse-farm mistress and the men who won't yield the field, and a traveling sister and a prince in hiding who walk the same pilgrim road for opposite reasons, chasing a rumor of a child who mends hurt things when nobody is looking. Anya's story comes first. These are what her ending leaves behind — and where it could yet lead.
I started Anya and Valerius because I wanted to play with some drama and romance. Originally Anya was a weak character — she bowed her head and was never noticed — and her husband was a kind man, too proper for his own good. Then Anya basically decided she was done with that, and in my playthroughs she became this cold powerhouse: her silence was a choice instead of a weakness, and she ran his entire life while he defended his lands. It eventually evolved into what this is now.
Then I decided I wanted another romance, but I couldn't settle on a theme. I thought... I really liked my Thea character, so I'd give her a story. The moment I started, Corinne shoved herself right to the front and said, hey — me first. And when I finally made it to Thea two men came out for her, both with secrets, both perfect for her in different ways. And while I was over there working on Thea, Rowan was over here in my ear going... hey. Hey. I don't have any lines. So I gave him an entire arc, and a woman he might be willing to give up everything for.
I might add more someday. For now, I hope you enjoy these characters as much as I have.
