At the Academy, every student is given a provisional UNIT: a small white-and-blue companion assembled from a scan of everything you hope and fear. The seam lines are plain to see. The person underneath isn't.

Care for it, train with it, take it out into the world, and let it choose its own silhouette, its own voice, its own sense of self. Every choice leaves a signal; repeated choices shape who it becomes. Your UNIT can stay small and mechanical, grow toward the human, adopt hybrid forms at its seams, or forge a wholly mechanical body for strength. There is no wrong way to grow — only the way it chooses.

Because Seam & Soul isn't about programming a perfect companion. It's about whether being wanted is the same as being useful, and whether something built this way can learn to choose. Assemble the body. Raise the person.
